1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Yeoman Home Solutions LLC. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of our handyman and repair services, website (yeomanhomesolutions.com), mobile applications, and any other services we provide (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using our Services, including booking services online, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Your electronic acceptance at the time of booking by checking the 'I agree to Terms' checkbox constitutes a valid signature and agreement to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.

2. Description of Services

Yeoman Home Solutions LLC provides professional handyman services. As a handyman service, we perform minor home repairs and maintenance work only. Our services include but are not limited to:

  • Minor home repairs and maintenance
  • Furniture assembly and installation
  • Basic carpentry and woodworking (non-structural)
  • Interior painting and finishing
  • Minor appliance installation and repair
  • Hanging shelves, pictures, and light fixtures
  • Door hardware installation and repair
  • Basic plumbing repairs (faucets, toilets, minor leaks)

IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS:

As a handyman service, we do NOT perform work requiring a California contractor's license, including but not limited to:

  • Electrical work (except basic lamp and fixture replacement)
  • Structural modifications or load-bearing work
  • Roofing, siding, or major exterior work
  • HVAC system work
  • Permits or inspections
  • Work on commercial properties
  • Projects requiring building permits

For any work requiring a contractor's license, we will refer you to appropriately licensed professionals.

Services are provided subject to availability, scheduling constraints, and compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations. All work must comply with local building codes and safety standards.

2.5. Service Area and Availability

Yeoman Home Solutions LLC primarily serves Santa Barbara and Ventura County. Service availability may vary based on location, scheduling, and demand. We reserve the right to limit services to specific geographic areas.

For locations outside our primary service area, additional travel fees may apply. Contact us for availability in your specific location.

3. User Accounts and Registration

To access certain features of our Services, you may need to create an account:

  • You must provide accurate and complete information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
  • You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms

4. Service Requests and Scheduling

Service Requests

When requesting services:

  • Provide accurate and detailed descriptions of the work needed
  • Ensure access to the work area is available during scheduled times
  • Inform us of any pets, children, or special circumstances
  • Disclose any known hazards or safety concerns

Scheduling and Cancellations

  • Appointments are confirmed based on availability
  • 2 calendar days notice is required for cancellation or rescheduling
  • Late cancellations may incur a fee
  • We reserve the right to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances

5. Pricing and Payment Terms

Pricing

Our pricing is based on half-day or full-day service blocks plus materials costs:

  • Half-day service (approximately 4 hours)
  • Full-day service (approximately 8 hours)
  • Materials and supplies costs (billed at cost)
  • Applicable taxes

Payment Terms

We require payment in full to secure your booking:

  • We accept major credit cards and other major payment methods
  • Payments are fully refundable if cancelled 2 calendar days or more before service (see cancellation policy below)

Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

  • 2 calendar days or more before service: Free rescheduling (up to 2 times) or full refund
  • Less than 2 calendar days before service and no-shows: No refund (unless we are able to fill the cancelled spot with another customer, in which case a full refund will be provided)
  • We reserve the right to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances at no charge

Additional Services and Change Orders

  • Materials discovered during service will be quoted separately
  • Change orders require written approval and may require additional payment
  • Work beyond the booked half-day or full-day will incur additional charges

6. Limitations of Liability

Yeoman Home Solutions LLC's liability for any claims arising from our services is limited to the greater of: (a) the amount paid for the specific service in question, or (b) $5,000, whichever is greater. We maintain insurance coverage with limits appropriate for our handyman services, and our liability shall not exceed our applicable insurance coverage limits.

We are not liable for consequential or incidental damages, loss of use, business interruption, or damage to personal property beyond our control. This limitation does not apply to damages caused by our gross negligence, willful misconduct, or violation of law.

As a handyman service, we perform only minor repairs and maintenance work. We are not responsible for any issues arising from work that requires licensed contractor expertise, pre-existing conditions, or modifications performed by others.

7. User Responsibilities and Conduct

You agree to:

  • Provide safe and accessible work environments
  • Follow all safety instructions provided by our technicians
  • Have utilities (electricity, water) available as needed
  • Remove or secure valuable items during service visits
  • Not interfere with or supervise our technicians' work
  • Report any concerns immediately during service

You agree not to request or engage us in any illegal activities or work that violates building codes or safety standards.

8. Permits and Building Codes

As a handyman service, we do not obtain or pull permits, nor do we perform inspections. All our work is limited to minor repairs that do not require building permits under California law.

Important Notice:

If your project requires building permits, inspections, or work that exceeds handyman service limitations, you must hire a licensed contractor. We can refer you to appropriate licensed professionals for such work.

By requesting our services, you certify that the work requested does not require a California contractor's license, building permits, or inspections under applicable law. We reserve the right to decline any work that we determine requires contractor licensing or permits, and will document such determinations in writing.

We perform all work in compliance with applicable building codes and safety standards. However, we are not responsible for ensuring code compliance for work outside our handyman service scope.

9. Insurance and Business Compliance

Yeoman Home Solutions LLC operates as a handyman service and maintains appropriate insurance coverage and business registrations. We are a registered under California Business requirements.

Insurance Coverage

Yeoman Home Solutions LLC maintains comprehensive insurance coverage including:

  • General Liability Insurance with coverage limits appropriate for handyman services
  • Property damage coverage for work-related incidents
  • Personal injury and advertising injury protection
  • Insurance certificates are available upon request

Business Registration

Yeoman Home Solutions LLC is properly registered as a business entity with the State of California. Our technicians are trained professionals with experience in basic home repair and maintenance.

Important Notice:

As a handyman service, we do not perform work requiring a California contractor's license. All services are limited to minor repairs and maintenance as described in Section 2 above.

10. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our Services, you consent to our privacy practices as described in the Privacy Policy.

10.5. Accessibility and Non-Discrimination

Yeoman Home Solutions LLC is committed to providing services in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California accessibility requirements. We do not discriminate against any individual based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

If you require accommodations for our services, please contact us in advance so we can make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility.

11. Intellectual Property

All content on our website and applications, including trademarks, logos, text, graphics, and software, is owned by Yeoman Home Solutions LLC or licensed to us. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

12. Termination of Services

Either party may terminate services with appropriate notice. We reserve the right to refuse service to any customer for safety, legal, or business reasons. Upon termination, all outstanding payments become immediately due.

12.5. Force Majeure

Yeoman Home Solutions LLC shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Acts of God, natural disasters, or severe weather conditions
  • Pandemics, epidemics, or public health emergencies
  • Government restrictions, regulations, or mandates
  • Supply chain disruptions or material shortages
  • Transportation issues or fuel shortages
  • Labor shortages or staffing issues

In such circumstances, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule services and keep you informed of any delays. No fees will be charged for delays caused by force majeure events.

13. Dispute Resolution

Our Commitment to Customer Satisfaction

We value our customers and strive to resolve any concerns quickly and fairly. Most issues can be resolved through direct communication with our team.

Step 1: Contact Us Directly

Please reach out to our customer service team info@yeomanhomesolutions.com to discuss any concerns. We'll work with you to find a satisfactory solution.

Step 2: Formal Dispute Process

If we cannot resolve the issue directly, you may submit a formal written complaint. We'll respond within 14 business days with our proposed resolution.

Mediation (Mandatory)

For disputes involving $10,000 or less, both parties must participate in non-binding mediation through Ventura County's Consumer Mediation Program or a mutually agreed mediator before pursuing any other legal remedies.

Arbitration

Disputes involving more than $10,000 that are not resolved through the above steps may be resolved through binding arbitration in Ventura County, California, administered by the American Arbitration Association under California law. Arbitration will be conducted by a single neutral arbitrator.

Consumer Rights Notice:

As a California consumer, you have additional rights that may not be waivable through arbitration agreements. Contact the California Department of Consumer Affairs for more information.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms will be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Ventura County, California, and you hereby consent to personal jurisdiction and venue therein.

15. California Consumer Rights

As a California business, we comply with all applicable California consumer protection laws, including but not limited to:

  • Civil Code § 1670 et seq. (Unfair Contract Terms)
  • California Business and Professions Code § 17200 et seq. (Unfair Competition)
  • California Civil Code § 1688 et seq. (Home Solicitation Sales)
  • Federal Trade Commission consumer protection regulations

As a handyman service, we do not perform work requiring contractor licensing under Business and Professions Code § 7000 et seq.

16. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Yeoman Home Solutions LLC regarding our Services.

17. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
